Polished Concrete with Fully Exposed aggregate and stones showing

Full Exposure

  • As the name implies, Full Exposure, refers the level of grind that allows all the beautiful stones to become visible. The beautiful materials that were used to make the concrete mix can be seen clearly across the floor, river stones, coloured glass and bits of metal can all add surprising delight and character.

These levels are a guide to whats possible, each floor is as unique as you are, so we can customise the level of grind to suit the desired look and feel you are after.

  • The Level of Polish can range from Satin/Matte to High Gloss, and anywhere in between, creative choice is yours!

  • It is important to remember that each concrete slab is unique and the following factors will determine the final product/finish:

    • the age of the slab

    • what colour stones/aggregate were used in the concrete mix

    • how well the slab was laid

Semi Exposed Polished Concrete

Semi Exposure

  • As the name implies, Semi Exposure, refers a lesser level of grind that allows SOME ofthe beautiful stones to become visible, hence it’s not ‘fully exposed’. The process uses the same mechanical polish methods. This type of finish produces a varied outcome and due to the nature of different concrete slabs they all look beautifully unique. Some people like the “less busy” look compared to full exposure.

Surface Polish

Minimal Exposure/ Surface Polish

  • As the name implies, ‘Minimal Aggregate” or “Surface Polish’ is polished concrete with very minimal to no aggregate/stones will be visible. The mechanisms used at the first stage of minimal aggregate polishing are subtle and non-aggressive compared to the first stage of a deep grind which is what makes the aggregate visible. Most of the time grout is not required as the tools are gentler on the concrete, meaning less holes are exposed. This style is heavily dependant on the quality of the slab. The final polish level can be a beautiful matte, satin or high gloss floor, or anywhere in between you choose!
